Imran Khan (IK) is a famous international and Pakistani player of Cricket
and a famous bowler. He achieved the world cup for Pakistan, in
1992. He is internally very intellectual for the athlete’s age. He is
seventy-two now equal to the age of Pakistan, He has a charismatic personality
no doubt. Initially, he focused on the youths, 20 years before, in fifth, April 25th, 1996, he started his
political party Tehreek e Insaaf.
The first start of democracy in Pakistan:
Pakistan gained independence in
1947, nearly after a huge migration, and Quaid e Azam was the main leader
of Pakistan, and it's all in the history books of Pakistan. The Independence of
Pakistan, I will focus on the main topic The Effects of IK Politics in
Pakistan, the main point I will explain in this para is that democracy was a
child in Pakistan in 1948, our leader Mohammad Ali Jinnah (called Quaid e
Azam). Military took over after 1956, and the start of operations in our
Democracy was done on 27 October 1958 when General Muhammad Ayyub Khan took
over as the second President of Pakistan. Yahya Khan became the second
Chief Martial Law Administrator of Pakistan on 25 March 1969, after
that General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq HI, GCS, (August 1924 – 17 August
1988) was a Pakistani four-star general who became the sixth President of
Pakistan following a coup and declaration of martial law in 1977
then General Pervez Musharraf NI(M) HI(M) four-star general of the
Pakistan Army who became the tenth president of Pakistan after the successful
military takeover of the federal government in 1999.
That was the sequence of taking
over for distinct reasons in different periods of Pakistan's history, whatever the
reason, these were. In short, these were politicians, for different political
reasons. My personal analysis is that Pakistan's basic problems were not
detected, and these are Minor surgeries among these actions taken by the
names of Marshal laws.
These are a few reasons why these Marshal laws were imposed in this newborn nation:
1) No land reforms were done seriously
just like Indra Gandhi did in India, Pakistani politicians and Generals did not
remove the old Sardars, zamindari, and landlords ', waderah system from
Pakistan.
2) Not a serious effort was made on any education policies to educate the 80%
to 85% illiterate messes.
3) No politicians and Generals focused on water storage systems and big industry projects,
only the Terbella dam was made by Ayyub Khan.
4) No Political party and Military administrators focused on hospitals or health
systems and public welfare systems.
5) No concrete financial system and loan system was ever introduced to
elevate the millions of poor from poverty to the middle class, like in China
and India.
6) No political party or system or Marshal Law made a real honest justice
system, bureaucratic organizations, and Anti-corruption laws introduced at the
beginning of the Country. Pervaiz Musharraf made the anti-corruption NABP
(National Accountability Bureau).
There are hundreds
of things the politician and the previous marshal laws have not done, the
adverse effects of all these shortcomings and educational, and moral values,
religious intolerance, terrorism, and corruption, the market situation, of
commodities, the Inflation, and the condition of poor plus the weather changing
all comes now in the big and giant shape, Pakistan's economic meltdown is going
on right now. Again I am focusing on the main topic and trying to make my
points about the effects of IK politics on Pakistan.
To understand the topic, of what
Effects of IK politics on Pakistan, cannot be understood without a global
or bird's eye view of the particular Pakistani society,
These
are the fundamental Division of Pakistan's society,
1) The
topmost wadearahs and landlords system, (are so big their constituencies are
equal the 1/8th of the provinces, railway lines go in hours but their lands did
not finish.)
2) The provincial language system, four provinces, one big province Punjab, and
three small, Baluchistan, Sind, and KPK (Khyber Pakhtoon Khaw)
3) The Poor messes like Kisan (agricultural bases workers, who live in waderahs
and landlords' lands, he is at their mercy). Plus lots of religious orthodox groups, social differences, female discrimination, and other internal poor messes with professional discrimination, like quota systems in urban areas of Sind, inequality among poor and rich people is a very big reason.
As we mentioned above topic, unfortunately, many influences affected the early childhood of Pakistan's democracy, From the beginning of democracy the first ever martial law came in the time of Field Marshal Ayub Khan. The first Prime Minister of Pakistan who was killed in Liaqat Bagh Rawalpindi was Khan Liaqat Ali Khan was murdered in Pakistan (Oct 16th, 1951), the main Colleague and right hand of Quid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. The list of other PMs is long enough not worth mentioning here, according to the topic.
International pressures of several
types, from Military pressure, human rights pressure, FATF, USA, Russia, and
China pressure, also, the Arab work, the Islamic countries pressure, these
pressures need not be bad all the time, some pressures are good for the
economy. The religious pressure of the general public if something happened, is
against Islamic social values and status. Social injustice of any kind might
cause international or USA/European pressures. These influences came all the
time in all the political parties govt and even in military periods. These
things are essential to describe what "Effects of IK Politics on
Pakistan" topic.
Imran Khan's (IK) Politics and how it progresses:
He started the Tehreek e Insaaf in
1996. with few resolute members, and gained popularity in the Pervaiz
Musharraf period he went to jail also. Also, he raised his voice in the
Afghan war with Pakistan and USA. He said war is not the ultimate solution,
dialogues could be the solution or lead to a solution. Nobody was listening
until the USA and Tehreek E Taliban sat in Qatar, and finally, the Afghan war
was over on Monday, August 30, 2021, with the help of Pakistani ISI, and
Trump administration, and the Afghan counterpart.
IK was basically based on the
following ideologies when started and progressing in Pakistan's dirty and
complicated politics. IK is an honest politician, which is his biggest weakness
or hurdle in the Pakistani dirty and corrupted and mafia-style politics. The
three biggest parties Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Muslim League
(Nawaz), Jamia e Ulema e Islam, and Jamaat e Islami, and the rest of
the parties are local parties like MQM Karachi, Hyderabad, an urban political party in Sind.
His main intentions were always a
small govt, and welfare State like Medina, 1400 years before the Islamic govt
in Medina and spread all over the Arabia peninsula, he wanted to eradicate
corruption from the top political system, and he wanted a strict justice system
for all Pakistanis not only for riches but for poor ordinary people.
Politicians are majorly in
Pakistan, after Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, and Benazir Bhutto, were busy making their
assets, and did money laundering and made billions of dollars overseas by
smuggling the dollars by mafia-style techniques and done white collar
crimes with rampant corruption. They destroyed all the financial, agricultural,
public sector projects, Industry, tax collection, administrative, and justice
systems by appointing their own judges and bureaucrats. In short PPP and the
PMLN were the two parties taking the govt one after the other for the last 30
years like a musical chair game. There was no third biggest party in Pakistan
to compete with these two mafia-type political giants. Things got so
complicated and it burdened foreign loans in Pakistan, according to the latest
statistical figures reported at $48.139 billion in
Nov 2022. Inflation is at its max level and the daily prices of commodities are
rocketing high now.
In these situations in the last election of 2013 Nawaz Govt was in power, and in the Election, 2018 Imran Khan Party sweeps in two Provinces Punjab and KPK, ( the northern part Of Pakistan) also, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit, and Baltistan also came under Imran Khan govt.
IK tried hard to compete with these other two parties
especially the party in Karachi MQM, which joined, with Baluchistan parties,
and one of the Punjab province's rivals PMLQ. That formed a govt. Before going
into details, again focus on the topic of the " Effects of IK politics on
Pakistan".
IK was not coordinating with the Military establishment's
top rankings, apparently, it seemed to be on one page but internally they are
in opposite directions, why, it was now apparent and without mentioning the
names, they supported IK at many places and trying to negotiate with other
parties only as a working relationship. As we discussed above, the regime of other political parties is mafia-like, and corrupted, Imran Khan was so rigid
and didn't want any discussion with the PPP and PMLN, especially.
It was okay, at the time of Imran Khan govt all economic indicators were going up, but the internal enemies also growing faster and faster, just after the Russian visit of Imran Khan (Feb 23rd, 2022), which was so much criticized by the international media and in the USA especially. Not only this Ukraine war was started and people in the European press criticized Imran Khan for not condemning this Russian invasion of Ukraine. Imran Khan was in his shoes and his principles were right, he went to Russia for grain and gas at discounted and subsidized prices that Russia wanted to offer. That action Imran Khan as an honest politician backfired, and the establishment became angry with IK. The relationship with the military establishment and with other parties get internal planning to buy his MNAs, with heavy dollars amount, almost 25 members they gave billions of dollars and created a big number difference in the national assembly, on the other hand, PPP and PMLN and with the help of US ambassador for months, they turned down Imran's 3 years and 7 months govt, by table the no-confidence motion in the national assembly and cleverly with the third-hand help, Imran Khan ousted from the parliament and did resignation of all the members.
1) Rule of the supremacy of the law.
2) Promote merit in the selection of the Govt and civil services and other
jobs.
3) Independent Foreign Policy, without any dictation of superpowers like the
USA or UK.
4) He shows the public a moon that all the corrupted Politicians and
organizations will face punishment and will bring Pakistani assets and money
back from foreign countries, sent for the last thirty to forty years due to
their rampant corruption.
5) Created millions of jobs in the housing sector and built 5 million houses
for poor/middle-class families.
6) Loans will be given to youth.
7) The transport and infrastructure system of Karachi will be improved and the Sind police.
8) Lots of similar promises that Imran Khan made to eradicate poverty in
Pakistan.
The Effects of Imran Khan's Politics on Pakistan:
The effect was very large, I already explained Imran Khan's background in a nutshell in the above topics. The other inside
situations, I will explain here are psychological, physical, financial, trade,
agricultural, youth, economic, jobless, women, political, military,
over-promise, corruption, and mafias.
Ordinary people might celebrate the comeback of Imran Khan
in 2018. The promises and expectations were extremely high, in this volatile, and corrupt
society. A clear majority was not gained by Imran Khan's PTI, but a very slim
majority was gained in the 2018 elections. Karachi, Hyderabad, Urban Party MQM,
Baluchistan Party (BAP), plus PMLQ of Punjab, and a few independent members supported PTI and formed a
coalition in the federal govt to join the national assembly of Pakistan.
PTI got some majority in two provinces Punjab and KPK and successfully made
their government.
Corruption was the main driving force and reason, why Imran Khan came into Politics. I interviewed eight years before politician lady Mrs. Fauzia Kusure a prominent leader of PTI, came here to
collect money for PTI. I asked several questions one question was, "Why was Imran Khan involved with the richest and most corrupt people in his
party like Sugar, tycoons like Jahangir Tareen, and others.
PTI was the combination of Landlords, Waderahs, sugar
tycoons, and the electable and electoral people of Punjab and KPK, Lots of people objected to
these tickets, and IK gave these people without deep thinking and thorough investigations. He made a very honest person Mr. Buzdar, the
Chief Minister of Punjab, but he was not a politically tactful, and
diplomatic-minded person, he was lazy and incommunicable which was Imran Khan's biggest critical mistake, Army Chief General Retired General Bajwa, told him many times to
change him. On the other side, he was rigid and not listening to the general people. As a result all persons in the other groups, created gaps in political dialogue, sitting, and negotiations all were
blocked by the PTI govt. This reason created hate between the rival groups of PTI and
other political party groups.
Let’s go step by step, the governments in Pakistan could never change through big speeches and big gatherings and Jalsas, meetings and protests, and processions. Imran Khan was so rigid and could not deliver in Karachi, and Hyderabad, which also made the important Sind ally MQM very angry. The individuals were angry as they did not give any chance to move forward in the PTI, like Mrs. Fauzia Kusuri and the other parties wanted some kind of negotiations and talks should be started, even though the leaders were corrupted and did money laundry. Logically Imran Khan was unable to arrest and peruse any deserved punishment of not a single politician in his tenure, nor deposited enough money from these politicians, in approximately four years except for speeches, meetings, big gatherings, and such kinds of things. He tried to make things good in the financial sector and generally poor people's welfare, like rest houses, started five dams, constructions, and some industrial achievements, and controlled the import and export balance. No doubt about it.
Establishment resources told, us that they were trying to help his govt, sent
messages, to be flexible, compromised, and diplomatic to deal with these other parties and politicians. Logic said: no matter if people are criminals, corrupted and so
what, you are governing the whole corrupt nation, then you cannot make
everybody your enemy. It will be very hard and almost difficult to control internal, and
simultaneously external, or international and all these pressures at one time.
The end result was MQM, plus 25 MNA's separated from this
govt, whatever, whoever gave money or letter whatever that was his and party
mistakes not to see what storm and the black swan is coming.
I know Imran Khan is an honest, very Islamic-loving, and self-respectful kind of leader, but mistakes are mistakes, You cannot go back, time will always march forward not backward. Having said these logical sentences, look what is the result nowadays, these crooks and corrupted, who are sitting in govt, microscopically monitoring his all moves, after defeating, Karachi local bodies elections, Karachi rejected PTI completely in Jan 2023 elections. (Please check newspapers and TV news)
All the politicians, who are corrupted and money laundered
kind of people are all out of crimes, they change the laws, of NAP (National
Accountability Bureau). They tried to take Khan's life and put four bullets in
his leg, and he fortunately with the grace of all mighty God escaped from an
assassination attempt.
What
effects Pakistan faced, were not direct but indirect, and suffering due to
his rigidness and inflexible attitude. Whatever he said, if things were placed
logically as an ordinary person, he should be very diplomatic, with these other
parties and should do his intense homework, before completing his first
hundred days plus three years and six months tenure. His own policies
affect badly others, who are surrounded by this govt like his close allies like
MQM, and the BAP party plus PTI's twenty-five MNAs. No doubt financial indicators
were up in his three years and six months tenure.
The recent decisions of Imran Khan, breaking the two provisional
assemblies (Punjab and KPK) one after the other were PTI's decision
overall. But if you see the situation overall Pakistan was not justifiable at
all in this dissolving of the two assemblies. Why Because, as a result, PTI
is on the roads only due to getting out by themselves from assemblies, now 13
parties govt, and the speaker of NA accepted their all resignations. Now PTI is
going to pursue these accepting the case of the resignation, in court. The time
will prove that was a wrong decision of PTI.
But
one major credit you all should give to Imran Khan is that he created a wave of
awakening and created a sense of dignity among youths and new voters, and
exposed all corrupt elements of the different political parties and
organizations. Pakistan will no longer be the old Pakistan.
Always leaders are responsible not the army:
Thanks, for the decision Please comment. Pakistan Zindabad.
